Training and Workshops
I have had the privledge of learning from some amazing people who have developed materials designed to enhance the lifes of others.
Teepa Snow has dedicated her life to enhancing the journey of both the Caregivers and Care Receivers who are living with Dementia. Her common sense approach to helping us understand how the brain works helps Caregivers to work with the person with dementia instead of working against them by not understanding what they have left.
Michael Smull and the Learning Community have developed Person Centered Thinking training to shift the care of people from a systematic appraoch to an individualized approach where clients have a voice about what's important to them. Helping staff enhance the care they provide for clients simply by helping them to think of things a little different helps them to understand and support clients in a healthy way that positively impacts all.
The workshops I have created have come from many years of walking with people along lifes journey. I have helped people stay safe and independent in their own home with the help of Volunteers, Home Care and Hospice.
Walking with Clients, Caregivers and Families has lead me to develop trainings that "answer the questions you don't know to ask". and provided the tools to thrive on your journey, instead of just survive.
My trainings are ever changing and evolving as I learn from the people around me as well as the experiences I have as a Professional and Family Caregiver.
